(W)REC(K) A BOOK: Grounded

James and Bianca's story draws to a close in the explosive conclusion to the Up In The Air Trilogy.

After a short but earnest courtship, Bianca can no longer deny her feelings for James, and though she's tried her hardest, she can't help but see that he cares deeply for her, as well. In a completely uncharacteristic move, she has put aside her misgivings and agreed to live with the enigmatic billionaire. Is her leap of faith the beginning of something wonderful, or is it too much, too fast?

As James and Bianca feel a growing need for each other that neither can deny, circumstances beyond their control intervene, trying to tear them apart. Amidst the ever mounting threat of a monster who wants Bianca dead, and the constant pitfalls of an indiscreet past that James can't seem to escape, can these two passionate lovers manage to find their happily ever after?

Just when I thought it couldn't get better, it did. This third installment ended bloody perfectly-
*Oh God, don't use that word. Too soon. Too soon.*
Ah. Well I might as well warn ya now! James, that kinky little guy. XD I couldn't think of what was kinkier than sex on horseback. But him earning his red-wings? Yeah. That about trumps all the kinky acts he's ever done. FYI: to earn one's red-wings means to go down on a girl while on her period. ^_- Glad this review will be just as educational for you as this book was for me!

It starts right where we left off with our favorite couple after they've found out that Bianca's psycho-ass father has killed his second wife, a woman she hadn't even known about until a few days ago. So now the dude's wanted for two murders, and James is even more determined to keep her safe. As they slowly relax in Manhattan, the drama around all that slowly goes away into the background- it's a harsh reminder that Bianca needs to be constantly watched, but it's not something that they've revolved their lives around. Bianca and James' life is perfect, and their times together just get better and better. It isn't until halfway into the book that things start to get a little bumpy, though at the time, it wasn't anything I worried about. When James started to get a little distant from Bianca, however, my stomach started to twist!

Turns out, a video from his past starring him and his last sub (ugh) had been leaked, and poor James believed that if Bianca ever saw it, she'd leave him. His secrecy and mildly cold demeanor worried her into second-guessing her decision in being as close to him as she already was, but Bianca did not disappoint! She stuck to her guns, believed what she did, and stayed with him, trusting him unconditionally.

Throughout the story, we got to meet a lot of James' friends who happily took on the duties of being dramatic. Now, I know I don't like side characters taking up room better spent on Bee and James, but I thought Lilley did a brilliant investment in the people like Tristan and Frankie (Doms), Danika (Tristan's 'other'), Lana, etc. I ate up all their time in the spotlight, it was so good! Maybe we'll even get to see all their stories in the future? *wink-wink*

I love Stephan, and I was so happy that we got his POV in some chapters! Totally unexpected, and yet so appropriate, since he's such a huge part of Bianca's life. I loved him and his gorgeous mind- there were times when I had to remind myself to jump back onto the "Bianca and James" bandwagon, his limelight was that good. XD

There's only one climax, but I dub the one I'm about to tell you, The "Pre-Climax". Things were starting to fall into place for them, and we meet Sven, her half-brother, when she sneaks out to meet with him. However, her failure to take her safety seriously is what gets her into huge trouble with James, who was completely worried sick when she left her phone in the room and her guards back at the apartment. He 'punishes' her in the only way Mr. Cavendish knows how, but eventually all his pent-up energy turns into his original fear of losing her. And he wasn't just fearing for her deranged father.

Now, by this time, he comes clean about the video, and he tries to keep her occupied or with someone for days so she doesn't have a chance to look at it. But she does, and when she did I was seriously worried that it would destroy her- but it didn't. Yes, seeing him have sex with someone kept a hard grip around her heart, but as she watched it, she noticed things. He was hard and rough, he spoke little. And he kept no eye contact. This video made her realize that everything James said or did truly was his first time and only meant to be shared with her. Poor James had a heart attack when he walked in on her watching it and fled the premises, but they made up and it was all sickly sweet for our dear sadist and masochist. :)

You have no idea how great this all was- the second installment blew me away with their newfound maturity and the fact that they actually learned from their mistakes. And I've gotta say, it was a nice relief, considering that some other series like to drag out the pain (T__T) but this book- it was just the icing on the cake. There were so many happy chapters despite the video and Stephan incident. Jules (grr) finally got what she deserved by getting a swirly from our very own Bee after she announces in the public restroom that she'd been the one to leak the video. Seriously, she's just like a villain. XD I fell in love with Murphy and the two nymphos, Judith and Marnie, all over again when Stephan got a pool party out of James at his house. Let's just say that Marnie and Murphy had an interesting (and loud) conversation about him getting his red-wings with her and finally becoming Eskimo brothers with Damien, who had already slept with Marnie. Eskimo brothers means they sleep with the same woman, just FYI.

Bianca and James finally said 'I love you'. ^.^ And they finally went to Japan! :) And it was there that he proposed to her during a beautiful and well-timed sunset!!! It was so beautiful. T_T And it made me think of Marian Tee's book which I'd recently read, where her characters are in Japan... and of course the guy in that book is supposed to resemble a certain actor... who has no idea that I'm alive and it just makes me wanna-

I swear, this series makes me yearn for someone made perfectly for me like with Bianca and James. Someone whose demons play fine with my own (ooo that'd be a nice fantasy series).

I have to say, though, the ending? Completely blew me away. I know this is a spoiling blog, but Hell- it was so good, I can't give it away. o.o You'll have to read it for yourself. XD

I recommend this third installment of a great series about a billionaire sadist who wasn't really living and a hard-working masochist who, until only a while ago, knew how to survive. There's tons of kinky shit in here, but I think James' sensual and sensitive side more than balanced it. And come on, who doesn't love to read about happy endings?

Let me end this review with a part of their wedding vows that James added in, the Benediction of the Apaches:

Now you will feel no rain,
For each of you will be shelter to the other
Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no more loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two bodies,
But there is one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place.
To enter into the days of your togetherness.
And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

Happy Ever Reading :)
